Hazardous Waste Management Section

The primary responsibility of the Environmental Quality Division-Hazardous Waste Management Section (EQD-HWMS) is to enforce and assist the EMB Regional Offices in the implementation of Title III (Hazardous Waste Management) of DAO 1992-29, the Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 6969 and DAO 2013-22, its Procedural Manual.

ANNOUNCEMENT

“On 22 October 2020, the Final Stakeholders Consultation on the proposed amendments to DAO 2013-22 or the “Revised Procedures and Standards for the Management of Hazardous Wastes:, was held. As such, any stakeholder may send a position paper regarding the proposed amendments presented during the consultation. All position papers of Stakeholders should be sent on or before 13th November 2020.

ATTENTION TO ALL IMPORTERS OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS UNDER DAO 2013-22:

A memorandum circular was issued on 28 November 2017 to clarify that all importers of recyclable materials containing hazardous substances shall be required to secure an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC).
