Regional Director

In our effort to augment the significance of clean waters, the Environmental Management Bureau this month geared on highlighting the celebration of the International Coastal Cleanup Day last September 16. Said event is annually held not only as a move to lessen trash from our water bodies, but more essentially, to intensify public awareness on marine debris problems and encourage behavior modification.

Furthermore, we also observed the World Ozone Day by spearheading a number of activities. Nonetheless, those activities would not have been successful if not for the aid of our partners in the media industry who serve as multipliers of our messages.

As we neared the end of the third quarter, however, we had to bid former director Fernando Quililan adieu as he assumed his post as regional director of Central Visayas and I took his post.

With new goals set, the bureau will continue to spread our advocacies in helping safeguard this precious planet we call home.
