| LMP CAR Cluster - FOURmula 1 - Zero Basura Caravan | The program of the GMA-SLA FOURmula 1 - Zero Basura Caravan will kick off in Baguio City on May 5, 09 with an expected attandance of 76 Mayors in the CAR Region. |
| Awarding of Winners of SMB 2006-07 | Winners of the Search for Model Barangays 2006-2007 will be receiving their checks for making their solid waste management outstand among others who had join the event. This only shows that proper waste management can be done by any barangay with proper advocacy, planning, implementation and monitoring. Will be held at Malacañang on December 22, 2008 at 2pm. |
| Launching of the ZERO BASURA OLYMPICS | Fast Track RA 9003 is a 300-Day incentive program to encourage Local Government Units(LGUs) to fast track the formulation and implementation of their respective Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Programs pursuat to Republic Act No. 9003.
Objectives:
1. To assist LGUs in the formulation and implementation of an effective and doable ESWM Program.
2. To promote multi-stakeholder cooperation to attain and sustain ESWM Programs at the LGU-wide level
3. To highlight and recognize novel and creative ESWM approaches that can serve as model for other LGUs to learn from
4. To develop a self-monitoring system for LGUs to track and benchmark compliances with RA 9003 |
| Awarding for the Search for Model Barangay 2006-07 | EARTH DAY is a yearly celebration worldwide which all of us should voice out our vision on how in our own simple way could help Mother Earth keep its nature beauty and benefit ours children’s children in the future.
EARTH DAY 2008 with the theme “Tubig ay Buhay: Ating Linisin at Pagyamanin” was a great venue in giving recognition to our outstanding barangays whose never-ending effort in proper waste management and let other barangay follow and will believe that “If we can do it, you can do it”. |

| Compliance to avoid the 3rd strike | LGUs must reply to NSWMC letter. Coordinate with EMB Regional Solid Waste Manangement Coordinators. Follow the 6 point of the GMA SLA program which are: 1.Site grading and stabilization of critical slopes (pag-sasaayos sa tamang taas ng tambak)
2.Application and maintenance of soil cover (Pagtatabon ng lupa)
3.Provision of drainage control system (Paglalagay ng kanal)
4.Putting up fencing and security (Paglalagay ng bakod)
5.Establishment of MRF/storage for recyclables (paglalagay ng hiwalay na lugar para sa mga recyclables)
6.Organization of waste pickers into Eco Soldiers and provision of working schedule for retrieval of recyclables. (Pagorganisa at paglalagay ng iskedyul sa mga mambubulasi o mangangalahig) |
| FOURmula 1 -Zero Basura Caravan | With the Theme "Empowering the League of Municipality of the Philippines Provincial Chapter" aims to strength LGU/Leagues and DENR partnership in sustaining the gains and addressing the challeges of LGUs on the proper implementation of Solid Waste Management. |
| PGMA visit Sta Rosa, Nueva Ecija MRF | Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo visited the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in the municipality of Sta Rosa, Nueva Ecija as part of her visits to the regions, provinces, towns and cities as stipulated in the recently issued Executive Orer 774, "Re-organizing the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change". The President provided to Fort Magsaysay where Sec Lito Atienza reported to Her Excellency the status of the implementation of the National Solid Waste Management Program under the Green Movement Agenda, at the national level, in Region 3 and in the province of Nueva Ecija. Sec Lito Atienza stressed that assistance from the national government to the LGUs in implementing shall facilitate compliance to proper solid waste management. The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act that will "redound to a Green Philippines that will not only provide a healthy and safe environment for the people, but will contribute to food production, increased productivity and economic growth and development". |
